The Wellington boys varsity basketball team is finding their stride as they prepare for the post season tournament. The excitement coming off of a Final Four appearance in the 2015-2016 season created a new energy and level of commitment among the players. In the off-season the team voluntarily committed themselves to the weight room and personal improvement by spending time in the gym. This year has been a tough journey as the team picked up a few disappointing losses in the early and mid-season, but with recent victories over top ranked Grove City Christian and Columbus Academy the Jags are building their confidence at just the right time. This year’s team has an increasingly deep roster of skilled players that allows for the team to adjust to their opponent on a game by game basis. Every win this season has truly been a team effort. In the final week of the regular season and in preparation for what they hope is a deep tournament run, the Jags will face Division I perennial powers Upper Arlington and St. Charles.
