First graders got their groove on during a production of “Pete the Cat.” Based on the popular series of children’s books, the play was a series of vignettes about keeping a positive outlook no matter what challenges may arise. At one point, Pete meets a series of animals feeling a bit down about their days. Ever the cool cat, Pete shows his friends that sunglasses are unnecessary to change their outlook on life. “You can find the good in every day,” he tells them.
Dressed in an array of adorable animal costumes, students sang their hearts out about the importance of a good attitude. The play was a fun reminder to the performers and audience members that they should approach each day with a chill outlook just like Pete the Cat.
