What you need to know
It is our sincere hope that all of our students, staff, faculty and community members stay safe and healthy during this time. In addition to following the 3 W’s (wash hands, watch distance, wear mask) and screening for symptoms, we cannot overstate how important it is to report your child’s positive COVID-19 test result to our school health professional within 24 hours of receiving notification. If your child receives a positive COVID-19 diagnosis, please follow the reporting protocol:
- Email or call our school health professional, Ms. Goldfarb 614.324.1661.
- Your report should include: Your name, your student’s name, the COVID-19 testing date, the date of symptom onset (if known), the name and location of the testing facility where your test was taken (if known) OR primary care physician name who ordered the test.
In alignment with state orders, within 24 hours after receiving notification of a positive COVID-19 case, Wellington will notify all parents, guardians, staff, and faculty about the case via email. In addition, all parents, guardians, staff, and faculty associated with the grade-level of the COVID-19 positive case will be notified of their specific connection and proximity to the case. As with this and all of our information sharing efforts, our intent is to provide as much information as possible while protecting the privacy of our families and their protected health information.
As previously mentioned, Wellington will also notify Franklin County Public Health within 24 hours after receiving notification of a positive COVID-19 case within our community. Transparent and easy access to information is critical to our community’s health and well-being, so we have created a publicly-available dashboard that parents can check. This dashboard will be updated daily. You can access that dashboard at any time at the top of this page.
It is with great disappointment, we have decided to cancel the remaining five weeks of the Wellington Summer Program (July 6-August 7). These programs will not be rescheduled. The decision to cancel the entirety of our public summer program has been very difficult, as we balance our desire to serve our families while maintaining the safety of the community and our staff. Ultimately, the health and safety of our community is the guiding force for our decision. Please visit the Wellington Summer Program for more important details about refunds and future programs we hope to offer.
With great sadness, we have decided to cancel the first four weeks of the Wellington Summer Program (June 8-July 3). These programs will not be rescheduled. We explored many different scenarios, but our number one priority is the health and safety of your student. Please visit the Wellington Summer Program for more important details about refunds and future programs after July 3.
