Arts Fest 2016 was a special day dedicated to celebrating art, commerce, and talent in the Wellington community. The festivities included opportunities for students to create their own mini-masterpieces at hands-on art booths, including bracelet bling, marvelous mosaics, and clothespin critters. Student entertainers were invited to perform their best song, dance, comedy routine, or other special talent. Young artists and budding entrepreneurs were encouraged to sell their handmade items or promote their personal services in a bustling marketplace where everything from sweets to slime were available for purchase.
New this year was an iWorkshop in which older students could participate in an aerial arts workshop as well as learn the craft of metal stamping and how to upcycle by making t-shirt bags and dog toys out of old materials. Gourmet food trucks were also on hand to satiate hungry art fans so they could grab a bite to eat without missing a brushstroke.
The fabulous day was made possible through the hard work of event chair Stephanie Hyer P ’25 and the Arts Fest 2016 committee. Jennifer Tonapi P ’24 deserves a special thank you for her beautiful photographic coverage of the event as do all of the other dedicated parent volunteers involved in making it a truly memorable occasion.
