The boys varsity golf team is headed to the Division III state tournament October 12-13 at NorthStar Golf Club in Sunbury.

After defeating defending State Champ Worthington Christian by one stroke, the Jags will now advance to the final. Jack Doody ‘19, Carsten Judge ‘21, Garrett Thesing ‘20, Aidan Schumer ‘20, and Jay Briggs ‘19 represented the district champs in the win.

“We’ve been close with Worthington Christian all year and have a couple days where we’ve been fantastic and beat them by more than just a couple (strokes), but for the most part, it’s been one or two (strokes) here or there,” Jaguars coach Craig Mosier told ThisWeek News. “We knew it was going to be tight today.”

Boys golf last won a state championship in 2012, also under current head coach and Wellington alumnus Craig Mosier ‘01.
