Wellington: We Stand Together

Wellington: We Stand Together

This is a copy of email communication sent to all Wellington parents.

Dear Wellington Community,

The events taking place in Minneapolis, Columbus, and across the United States, are heartbreaking. Protests, many times, have a polarizing effect. They challenge our sense of right and wrong. I encourage each of us to watch and listen, to seek understanding instead of judgment. This is a call to action for each of us to do what we can to make the world a more just and fair place for everyone. This moment is a stark reminder that we all have so much work to do to end racism and re-align systems to make sure they work for all people. I cannot imagine the hurt our families of color are feeling at this time. Please know that Wellington is committed to you; and you are so important to us. If there is anything we can do to support your family, please reach out.

Part of what drew me to Wellington is the ongoing commitment to inclusion and equity. It is this steadfast commitment that keeps us anchored as a community. Wellington is a place where you are known and where every voice matters. Now more than ever, the world needs thoughtful leadership to help put an end to racism and brutality. At Wellington, we encourage and embrace courageous conversations, and are committed to continue to help shape students who will bravely shape this world.

I remain hopeful that the voices we need to hear from can be elevated so that impactful change can occur. If you, your family or anyone that you know within the Wellington community needs support at this time, we are here to help. We are together, even while apart.

Below, I've linked several resources that I hope will help you and your family embrace courageous conversations in your home.
