The Wellington Thespian Society proudly presents an exciting night of one-act plays. With various genres and styles, these short plays will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions and leave you wanting more. Several new Student directors direct each play. From drama to comedy, romance to mystery, this event has something for everyone. So join us for a night of entertainment and support our talented young actors and directors as they showcase their skills on stage. You will want to take advantage of it!

Measure for Measure

by William Shakespeare, adapted by Drew Eberly and Ivan Nafiu '23, and in collaboration with Available Light Theatre

Rising inflation, an energy crisis, high unemployment, political scandals, and an identity crisis are some issues causing tremendous concern among the citizens. The Duke has abandoned the city, leaving Angelo, an authoritarian figure, in charge. Angelo's new policies on freedom are causing great unrest. Sheltered in a convent, Isabella must step forward to save her brother from being executed under these new laws. However, the price of her brother's freedom is her sacrifice. As Isabella and society fight for justice, they must grapple with what they are willing to lose in the process.

CLUE: ON STAGE

based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn, written by Sandy Rustin, additional material by Hunter Foster and Eric Price, based on the Paramount Pictures Motion Picture, based on the Hasbro board game CLUE, original music by Michael Holland

Based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie inspired by the classic Hasbro board game, Clue is a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery. The tale begins at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party where murder and blackmail are on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects. Led by Wadsworth – the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count stacks up. Clue is the comedy whodunit that will leave both cult-fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out…WHO did it, WHERE, and with WHAT!
