This event will cover multiple locations on the Wellington campus, requiring the ability to navigate with quite a bit of walking. Wellington is wheelchair-accessible, including an elevator to our second floor.

Due to the high volume of attendance at this event, we encourage families to carpool or plan a drop-off if at all possible.

PARKING: Please plan to enter from our main entrance off Reed Road. Wellington staff will be available to assist with parking directions in both front and back lots. Please note that parking is only available in our lot off Fishinger Road after 8:30 a.m. due to bus access.

OVERFLOW PARKING: Parking in our Fishinger Road lot is available after 8:30 a.m., or you may also park in the surrounding neighborhoods if needed.

Due to Grandparents and Special Friends Celebration, we will offer a staggered dismissal on Friday, May 3 to help manage the traffic flows. Car line pickup for those students without a grandparent or special friend in attendance should plan to arrive early to avoid the rush.

Aftercare will NOT be offered on Friday, May 3. There are no afternoon buses offered on May 3.

11 a.m. Dismissal without guests - all grade levels

11:15 a.m. Dismissal with guests - Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School

11:30 a.m. Dismissal with guests - Upper School

I have trouble walking, is Wellington wheelchair accessible? This event will require a good amount of walking to multiple parts of our building. If you need to bring a wheelchair, we are fully wheelchair accessible, including an elevator to the second floor for middle and upper school. We also have a few wheelchairs available for short-term use for the longest walk down the main hallway.

We will also offer some spaces in the Borror Gymnasium for wheelchair-accessible breakfast tables. Please ask to be directed to those tables when you enter the gymnasium doors.

Will I be spending the morning with my student(s)? The morning starts with a continental breakfast and an adults-only program in our Borror Gymnasium at 8 a.m. while students head to their classes. You will join your student(s) following the program.

How will I know how to find my student(s) after the program? Please remain in the Borror Gymnasium until you are directed to exit. We will have a staggered release to manage the crowd. Early childhood and lower school grandparents will be released by grade level and escorted by faculty members to the appropriate classrooms. Middle and upper school grandparents will be greeted by their student(s) in the Borror Gymnasium and escorted through the rest of their morning by the student(s).

I will be visiting multiple students. How do I know where to go first? Guests are encouraged to meet their youngest grandchild first. Students in middle school and upper school will share a schedule with you that morning to allow you to find them in the appropriate classroom when you leave another student.

You may also ask any adult wearing a badge for directions. Staff and faculty will be roaming the halls to help guests find their next location.

What if I am unsure about my student(s) grade level or teacher's name? We provide this information on your nametag when you check in. Please make a note of this information so you can follow the directions given at the close of the program in Borror Gymnasium.

May a student's parent attend on May 3? Due to space limitations, we encourage parents NOT to attend this event unless they need to assist an elderly grandparent. If you plan to attend as a companion to a grandparent, please be sure to register so we can plan for you!

If a grandparent is unable to attend, will my grandchild be the only one without a guest? We understand that not all grandparents are able to attend this event. There will be many students without grandparents represented, and that is okay. If you would like to invite a special friend (18+) in lieu of a grandparent, please share this webpage with them for registration.

Will there be a livestream of the program or an option to digitally connect with my student in the classroom? We will not be offering digital connections this year. The program will not be livestreamed, and we are not able to accommodate digital connections in the classrooms. Per our school handbook, students will not have access to personal devices during class. If you are unable to attend in person on May 3, we encourage you to connect with your grandchildren after 11:30 a.m. since May 3 is an early Dismissal day.
