Four Members From the Class of 2026 Sign to Continue Their Athletic Careers in College

Their achievements reflect both individual dedication and the strength of Wellington’s athletics program.

Wellington celebrated four seniors this week as they committed to continuing their athletic careers at the collegiate level. Surrounded by coaches, teammates, and family members, these student-athletes were recognized for their hard work, leadership, and impact on their teams.

Finley Basobas-O’Carroll will continue his soccer career at the University of Rochester. Although new to Wellington soccer this past season, Finley quickly established himself as a standout midfielder, leading the team with 23 goals and 12 assists. His performance earned him District and State Player of the Year honors, as well as All-Region and All-American recognition.

Will Bernard will play baseball at Kenyon College. A consistent presence on the mound since 9th grade, Will has earned both second-team and honorable-mention all-league honors over his career. He was named the team’s Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and is off to a strong start this season, batting .409 with three home runs and 12 RBIs through the first eight games.

Emme Braunsdorf will continue her golf career at the College of Wooster. A three-year member of the team, Emme showed steady growth throughout her time at Wellington, earning Most Improved Player honors twice. She finished seventh in the league this past fall with a 92 average and earned first-team all-league honors for the second consecutive year.

Jeanie DeSantis will play basketball at the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Since joining Wellington as a sophomore, Jeanie has been a key contributor to the girls basketball program. She played an important role in the team’s District Runner-Up finish in 2025 and earned both second-team and first-team all-league honors during her career. She was also selected for the 2026 District 10 All-Star Game.

Wellington’s athletics program continues to support student-athletes in reaching their goals, both during their time at school and beyond. These four seniors represent the commitment, growth, and competitive spirit that define Wellington athletics.
