JagsConnect Volunteer Training Kicks Off a Year of Mentorship and Momentum

On August 21, The Wellington School officially launched its JagsConnect Volunteer Program with a dynamic training session that brought together alumni and professionals dedicated to mentoring students. With 19 volunteers attending in person, 12 joining virtually, and others engaging via the recording, the event marked a powerful beginning to a year of connection, career exploration, and community building.

Led by Wellington alumna and career strategist Liz Kazemi ’17, the training offered a mix of inspiration and practical guidance. Volunteers explored the mission of JagsConnect, reviewed expectations, and participated in a mini-workshop on how to be a great mentor. School leaders and Alumni Advisory Board members helped frame the program’s vision and shared how volunteers will support students across grades 9–12 through panels, workshops, and real-world experiences.

The energy in the room — and online — was palpable. Volunteers left inspired, equipped, and ready to make a meaningful impact. With signed agreements now in hand and the training packet and video available for reference, the JagsConnect network is officially active and growing.
