This is a copy of email communication sent to all Wellington families.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As you may be aware, a COVID-19 Health Advisory for the City of Columbus and Franklin Countywas issued today. We will postpone the upper school theatre production of “The Grown-Up.” Additional communications will be sent to parents and caregivers of thespians and winter athletes with specifics about programs and practice. At this time, the advisory will not impact our current academic or aftercare programs.

To that end, we want to reiterate that we are following the most up-to-date Franklin County Public Health recommendation for schools: “Despite rising case numbers, we believe that it is safe for kids to go back to and remain in the classroom as long as all safeguards are followed, including wearing a mask and social distancing”. Click here for the full joint statement from Franklin County Public Health and Columbus Public Health regarding in-person education this fall and winter.

As a reminder, our COVID-19 response plan indicates that a level 4 alert, alone, does not indicate a campus closure. In this scenario, we would continue to monitor our COVID-19 indicators for community spread while making campus operating decisions in partnership with FCPH and CPH. However, it remains critically important for our community to observe public health guidance, including wearing masks (even while visiting with family or friends outside of your household), practicing physical distancing, avoiding large groups, and limiting time spent indoors with individuals outside of your household (even when masked).

Thank you for your collective dedication to the safety of our community.

Stay safe,

Dr. Jeff Terwin
Head of School
