This week, Wellington proudly celebrated seven seniors who committed to playing their sport at the next level. Representing a wide range of Wellington sports — including baseball, soccer, swimming, diving, basketball, and tennis — these talented student-athletes are a testament to the strength, development, and excellence of Wellington’s athletic program.
Noah Ehlers will continue his baseball career at Mercyhurst University. A leader on the field, Noah helped guide Wellington’s baseball team to one of its best starts in school history, boasting a record of 11–3. Noah has made a tremendous impact with a .667 batting average, 12 doubles, four home runs, 30 RBIs, and 23 runs scored. He has tallied 44 strikeouts in just 21 innings this season as a pitcher. Over his high school career, Noah earned the Coaches Award as a freshman and the ROAR (Regarded Outstanding Among the Rest) Award as a sophomore.

Graciela Leahy will dive for Vassar College. Returning to the sport this year after a two-year hiatus, Graciela quickly reestablished herself as a valuable Wellington diving team member, consistently earning points in meets. Her coach praised her growth, dedication, and newfound passion for the sport.
Alex Brello will join the Bozeman Icedogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). Although Wellington does not offer hockey as a school sport, Alex pursued his passion independently with the school’s support and encouragement. He has played hockey for over nine years, most recently with the Tri-State Spartans in Indiana and the Columbus Thunderbirds. As a center, he earned a nomination for the Mid-American Team. Alex plans to play Junior Hockey for a year before continuing to college or pursuing a professional career.

Andrew Wissman will play tennis at The College of Wooster. Since joining Wellington as a junior, Andrew has stood out, earning 2nd Team All-League honors in his first season and playing #2 singles this year. His leadership has helped the team achieve a perfect league record of 7–0 this season. His coach describes him as an excellent teammate with a bright future in the sport.
Elodie Ware will continue her basketball career at Vassar College. Elodie capped an impressive high school career by surpassing the 1,000-point mark this season. She earned numerous honors, including First Team All-League, First Team All-District, and All-State recognition. She was a three-time team MVP, MVP of the Jaguar Invitational, and District 10 Super Team member. Over her final two seasons, she led Wellington’s girls basketball team to a combined record of 38–10, culminating in a District Runner-Up finish this year.
Jonah Hunter has signed with Concord University to play soccer. As the starting goalkeeper for the past two seasons, Jonah earned First Team All-League and First Team All-District honors. His leadership and performance this season also earned him the title of team Most Valuable Player.

Cameron Petitt will swim for Penn State University, concluding one of Wellington's most decorated athletic careers. A three-time State Runner-Up in the 500 freestyle, Cameron holds multiple school records in individual and relay events, including the 50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 500 free, 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 IM, and all three relay events. He also holds the district record in the 500 freestyle and was named the league Swimmer of the Year and Wellington’s Athlete of the Year as a junior.
