Three Counselors, One Student-Centered Approach

Three Counselors, One Student-Centered Approach

February 2–6 is National School Counseling Week, a time to recognize the vital role school counselors play in helping students thrive. At Wellington, having a dedicated counselor in each division matters. It means our youngest students build early foundations of confidence and care, middle schoolers receive steady guidance through a period of rapid growth, and upper school students are supported as they navigate academic planning, personal well-being, and what comes next. Guided by this year’s theme, "School Counselors Amplify Student Success," we are deeply grateful for Justin Newby in early childhood and lower school, Tracy Gilbert in middle school, and Tara Zimmer in upper school, whose work ensures every student is known, supported, and valued at every stage.
