The Wellington Fund: Engage People. Ignite Ideas. Shape the Future.

By Elissa Francis, director of development

At Wellington, our mission is brought to life every day by the people who make this community extraordinary: the students who explore boldly, the educators who inspire growth, and the families who believe in the power of learning to transform lives. On Tuesday, November 18, we will celebrate that shared belief during Wellington’s annual Day of Giving, a 24-hour opportunity to come together in support of the people, programs, and experiences that define our school.

When you make a gift to The Wellington Fund, you are not simply contributing to a budget line. You are helping shape the future of our community. The Wellington Fund provides the flexible, essential resources that allow us to attract and support exceptional educators, expand access for families, and fuel innovation across campus. Every dollar raised strengthens our ability to deliver on Wellington’s promise: an education that meets each student where they are and challenges them to go further.

This year, your gift will support three key areas of impact. Advance Professional Learning empowers our faculty and staff to grow in their craft through conferences, workshops, and speaker engagements that bring the latest ideas in teaching and learning directly to our classrooms. Expand Tuition Assistance ensures that Wellington remains accessible to a wide range of families, sustaining the vibrant mix of backgrounds and perspectives that enrich our community. Fuel Mission-Driven Innovation provides the agility to pursue bold ideas—from new curricular initiatives to enhanced learning spaces—that keep Wellington at the forefront of education.

The impact of this generosity is visible across campus. Last year’s gifts helped launch The Croft Kindergarten Wing, creating a purpose-built home for our youngest learners. They provided hardship tuition assistance for 32 families, ensuring students could remain in the classrooms they love. They supported civic engagement initiatives, including a student trip to Alabama to study the Civil Rights Movement firsthand. And they enabled faculty to pursue project-based learning training that empowers students to engage meaningfully with the world around them. Each of these opportunities was made possible by those who chose to invest in Wellington’s mission.

On November 18, I invite you to join us again in celebrating that spirit of engagement and possibility. Your participation matters, and your impact is immediate. Let us come together as one community to engage people, ignite ideas, and shape the future for our students today and for the generations who will follow.
