Wellington's new mosaic mural is a vibrant celebration of creativity and community, brought to life through a collaboration between Wellington’s lower school students and local artist Vicki Murphy. Made possible by the Ohio Arts Council, the project united Ms. Murphy with early childhood and lower school (ECLS) art teacher Alex Loy to guide students in shaping a shared artistic vision.

Over the course of 20 days in the Early Childhood and Lower School Art Studio, students and staff worked side by side, carefully placing each piece to build the mural from the ground up. The final design, sparked by drawings from lower school students, unfolds as a whimsical nature scene, rich with imagination and meaning, and thoughtfully weaves together Wellington’s five core values: be curious, be yourself, be ambitious, be empathetic, and be responsible.
Many thanks to the Ohio Arts Council for supporting Wellington's lower school students in developing their creativity, passion, and artistry.
