As we stand together to drive real change at Wellington and beyond, we must also commit to reflect on the ways that we each uphold systems of oppression while taking steps to actively dismantle them. The purpose of the Wellington Community Equity & Inclusion Panel is to listen and learn - because we believe that every voice matters. Your perspective is vital to continue our journey in building a more equitable and just Wellington.

As a member of this panel, you may be asked to participate in activities - all of which are optional. By engaging with us here, you will be a vital source of feedback which will inform how we move forward and become better. Please understand that participation is optional in all activities we may plan.To ensure confidentiality, data from surveys and the information you share here will only be used in aggregate (i.e., groups of people), and no individuals will be identified.

The mission of the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee of our Board of Trustees is to continue to cultivate an environment that inspires, educates and actively supports our school community to effectively engage diversity and inclusion by:

  • Attracting and retaining talented and diverse students, faculty, and staff committed to maintaining an inclusive community
  • Supporting opportunities that enrich the learning experiences of the school community and prepares students to function responsibly in a diverse society

Wellington is dedicated to developing courageous individuals inspired and prepared to positively impact our world. Beginning in lower school, students have the opportunity to join a number of clubs and affinity groups, including those focused specifically on diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The Boys of Color Mentorship Program and Female Students of Color provide an opportunity for Black students to meet with alumni and staffulty to discuss life inside, outside, and beyond Wellington, receive guidance, and make connections that last a lifetime.
