The AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) Parent Affinity Group is honored to host our second annual Holi event. We invite you to celebrate the Holi festival of colors with us on Saturday, May 17 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Wellington, weather permitting.
Important Details
This tradition is celebrated across India and dates back to the 7th century. The intention of the celebration is to rid oneself of past errors, and to forgive and forget. It is also to welcome back spring and bring positive energy into your life. The colored powders represent a celebration of life and the triumph of good over evil.
We can't wait to celebrate with you!
We plan to enjoy outdoor fun including games and music. Purchase your $10 ticket using the form below.
We will also throw colored powder on one another as part of the celebration. Colored powder will be provided. Please plan on making a good, old fashioned mess! For the biggest impact, wear light colored clothing or tie dye. Please be aware that whatever you wear may not be salvageable, so think old clothes, old shoes...
Forgot a white shirt? Don't worry. We will have t-shirts for sale from 3-4 p.m. Help us plan for enough t-shirts by using the pre-order link below.
Bring towels, garbage bags, goggles, and a change of clothing. Bring anything you may need to protect your vehicle on the way home. Kids may want to wear swim goggles to protect their eyes from the powder.
Several food trucks will be available for individual purchases from 4-6 p,m. Drinking water will be provided.
Kids will also offer a lemonade stand with $1 cups as a fundraiser toward future events.
Plan to park in the front parking lot for easy access to our outdoor events! All events will take place outside the West Events Entrance or on the Auxiliary Field. There will be NO ACCESS to the main building, Roberts Field, or the early childhood/lower school playscape.
Restroom access will be limited to the annex building off the Auxiliary Field.
Rainy weather will require this event to be rescheduled.
