Wellington Welcomes Ms. Latisha Humphries as Director of Community Engagement and Belonging
Wellington is proud to welcome Ms. Latisha Humphries as our new director of community engagement and belonging, beginning July 1, 2025. Humphries brings a strong background in education leadership, most recently leading statewide initiatives in student development and school climate at the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce. She previously served as dean of students at United School Network in Columbus and began her career as a classroom teacher in New York City.
At Wellington, Humphries will guide efforts to ensure every student, family, and faculty member feels connected and supported, from student leadership and service learning to family engagement and inclusive school culture.

Laurie Parsons Retires
After 23 years at Wellington, lower school music teacher Laurie Parsons is retiring. Known for her joyful classroom and creative spirit, she brought music to life for generations of students. From championing music literacy to reviving the Alma Mater tradition, Parsons shaped the lower school experience in lasting ways. Her warmth, collaboration, and care for students will be deeply missed.

Mark Rodgers Retires
Middle school math teacher Mark Rodgers is retiring after 19 years of inspiring students at Wellington. Known for his “school dad” vibe, quick wit, and deep care for his students, Rodgers combined high expectations with humor, heart, and a love of learning. Whether guiding students through math problems or being a steady presence in advisory, he built a classroom culture of trust, curiosity, and connection. His warmth and impact will be fondly remembered by colleagues and students alike.

Early Childhood Playdate (Rising 2025-26 Little Jags, Prekindergarten, and Kindergarten Students)
Save the date for an early childhood playdate on Saturday, July 12, from 10-11 a.m. Parents and caregivers and their early childhood students are invited to gather at the Wellington Playscape for a time of play and connection, weather permitting. Popsicles and restroom access will be provided. Bring your own water bottle! Siblings are welcome.

Volunteers Needed - Sokol Store
If you are passionate about connecting with the Wellington community, we have a great opportunity for you to get involved in the 2025-26 school year! Whether you have one hour per month or one hour per week, we would love to train you to help in the Sokol Store. We have needs from 8-9 a.m. and 3-4 p.m. Monday through Friday on regular school days. Upper School Track and Field: The upper school track and field team had seven student-athletes qualify for the District Finals: Sofia Correa-Saliceti ’28 1600m, Ross Braswell ’25 3200m, Koen Kwak ’25 800m and 4x400m relay, Isaac Brady ’25 110mH, Jasiri Dial ’28 4x400m relay, Finn Wheeler ’25 4x400m relay, Solomon Graham ’27 4x400m relay. While they did not qualify for finals, the 4x200m relay team of Isaac Brady ’25, William Harry ’28, Solomon Graham ’27, and Jasiri Dial ’28 set a new school record of 1:42.89 during the district prelims.
Upper School Boys Tennis: The boys tennis team finished the year as Mid-State League Champions and sent five athletes to the district championships: Andrew Wissman ’25 for singles, and the doubles pairs of Will Myers ’28 and Connor Kuttrus ’28, and Shivum Kalyanam ’25 and Abbott Arthur ’27.
